The International Youth Foundation (IYF) knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This notice describes our privacy policy. The Simple Version

We use your contact information for in-house purposes only and do not share any information about you with third parties. Registration and contributions made through our website also opt you into our e-newsletters, from which you're able to unsubscribe at any time. We think, though, that you'll enjoy them.

 

What Personal Information Does IYF Gather?

Information You Give Us

We receive and store any information you enter into our website or give us in any other way. This includes subscribing to our e-Newsletters, donating to us, or submitting a form (such as a comment) on our website. We ask for personal information so that we can fulfill your request and return your message. If you choose not to provide any of that information, we may not be able to fulfill your request, but you will still be free to browse the other sections of the websites owned and administered by IYF.

If you subscribe to our e-Newsletter, from time to time, we will send you email announcements about our organizational impact, new programs, and other news related to youth development. If you register for an event, we may invite you to subscribe to our e-Newsletter. The quality news, stories, and information on IYFGlobal.org and in our newsletter are supported by donations and grants. Some demographic data volunteered through our websites and channels are used statistically to provide our board and our funders with an accurate profile of our overall site visitors and subscribers. We never make any personal data collected from these surveys available to a third party.

The Website is targeted to users who are above the age of 18.  The International Youth Foundation has no intention of collecting any personally-identifiable information (such as name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address) from individuals under eighteen years of age. (In general, any personally-identifiable information collected on our Website is collected without any information indicating the age of the person providing the information, except, where appropriate, to confirm that the person is of legal age.) Where appropriate on our Website, the International Youth Foundation will specifically instruct children not to submit such information. If a child under eighteen has provided us with personally-identifiable information, a parent or guardian of that child should contact us at (410) 951-1500 or at [email protected] if they would like this information deleted from our records. We will use reasonable efforts to delete the child's information from our existing files.

 

Social Media & Comments

IYF uses social media such as website comments, and networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, to engage readers in dialogue. As mentioned above, IYF makes use of data collected via these functions on our website. On other networks, we abide by the terms and conditions of that website/service and reserve the right to use those networks for marketing purposes. Comments made on IYFGlobal.org and IYF’s Twitter feed, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts are reviewed and published at our discretion. Through the use of these functions, you accept that IYF is permitted to edit, moderate, and reuse comments for in-house promotional materials. Promotions and advertising are not allowed in this medium, nor is derogatory or hateful speech.

 

Automatic Information

When you visit any of our websites, our servers make a log of basic information corresponding to the sites and pages you have visited. This information is stored primarily to track the effectiveness of our websites and individual sections and pages within them.

We employ customized statistic analytics that uses session cookies that expire after each session, which we use to identify what country you visit from, what methods and how you come to visit our site, including whether you came directly to our site or from another website and the URL of that website. We also try to identify if you have visited us from a search engine such as Google and what search terms you used, or whether it was from a bookmark. We also follow and note the pages you visit. We do not collect nor store the Internet protocol address (IP) from which you visit.

Non-Personal Information may include the browser name, the type of device and technical information transmitted, language preferences, geographic location, timestamps and visited pages, operating systems, and other similar information. We may also collect IP addresses that would be irrevocably anonymized.

 

How Secure Is Information About Me?

All computers that receive or store personal information are secured by firewalls and other security measures. Additionally, sensitive data such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL and other industry-standard measures, to provide an additional level of security.

 

How Do We Collect Your Information?

We collect personal data if and when online users provide IYF with your details when you become a subscriber or donor. We may also collect personal information given voluntarily when contacting us on our website, submitting written content, and/or while registering for an event. When you visit IYF’s Website, we may collect information about your visit, such as your IP address and the pages you visited, and when you subscribe and access our educational content, we may collect information on when and how you use those services.

Our website uses Google Analytics and its display advertising features, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and web page usage.

If you would like to opt-out of Google Analytics for display advertising you may do so by using the Ads Preferences Manager.

We will only provide our funder with information submitted by our online users via submission forms for accessing exclusive site content such as trainings and webinars. Online users will always have the option to omit sharing this information with our partners and funders.

Non-personal information may be shared with third parties to improve our web services, conduct data analysis, or for other business purposes. This information may be combined with information we collect from other sources to the extent that the data remains anonymous. In addition, we may elect to share your personal information with qualified third-party partners, but only where you agree to share such information.
