Robert Mbata

Robert joined IYF in 2020 as a Training and Life Skills Officer. Prior to that, he worked with the International Citizen Program (ICS) as a volunteer and was awarded a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) certificate. This experience fueled his desire to make an impact in the lives of young people. Robert graduated from the Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2014 with a BA in marketing and entrepreneurship. Additionally, he completed a Level 1 PMD course in preparation for his position at IYF and is currently pursuing an MA in community economic development. He has five years of professional experience across projects funded by DFID, Shells, Mastercard, and the EU that focused on commercial agriculture for smallholder farmers and improving youth economic opportunities through vocational training. In all projects, Robert emphasizes the importance of ethical approaches based on social accountability and inclusion.
