Colin has worked with IYF since 2012, with experience managing the foundation's program and partnership portfolio in Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Colin came to IYF with eight years international development experience. He previously worked with the Aga Khan Foundation, including three years with their office in Mozambique, where he contributed to strategy and business development for a large multi-sector rural development initiative. Colin also has experience in the field of urban development, including conducting research in Nairobi with UN-HABITAT on pro-poor integrated land-use and public transport planning, and through managing a University College London action research initiative in Maputo on climate change resiliency planning. Colin holds a bachelor's degree in public policy and administration from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Science in Urban Development Planning from University College London. He is particularly interested in exploring how partnerships with public institutions and training systems can be leveraged to promote social justice. Born and raised in the United States, Colin learned Portuguese while living in Mozambique.
