Anna Schowengerdt

Anna Schowengerdt is the Executive Vice President of Programs and Business Development for the International Youth Foundation. In this role, she leads IYF’s global Program implementation unit; the Assets, Strategy and Knowledge (ASK) Unit (housing IYF’s technical expertise in measurement, evaluation, research and learning; gender, equity, and social inclusion; and digital and life skills), as well as the Business Development unit for institutional public donor funding. As a member of the Executive Management Team, Anna works to develop systems that guide the implementation of IYF’s strategy with a particular vision for achieving the 2030 goals.

Before arriving at IYF, Anna led Save the Children USA’s New Business Development and Award Management functions. As Save the Children’s account manager for the US Government, she brought stakeholders together to maximize program quality, nurture growth, and drive advocacy across critical thematic and cross-programmatic areas. In 17 years at Catholic Relief Services, Anna’s roles included project implementation, country management, business development and global leadership positions in three country offices and CRS headquarters. Her responsibilities over the past 20 years have included managing large multi-donor programs in the agriculture, food security, micro-finance, HIV/AIDS, education, emergency response, and peace building sectors; leading the mobilization and stewardship of institutional donor funding for relief and development programs worldwide; and leading significant agency-wide strategic priorities. Anna holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University.
