Abubakari joined IYF in 2018 as a Life Skills and Career Guidance Officer in Dar es Salaam. Prior to this, he worked as a national peer educator team lead for Restless Development and WAMATA’s USAID-funded New Generation, Kizazi Kipya, project. In this role, he facilitated financial literacy, career guidance, life skills and sexual reproductive health and rights sessions (SRHR) for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in primary and secondary schools. Before that, he worked for Raleigh International Tanzania managing a team of volunteers for a UKAID-funded water, sanitation, and health project. Abubakari graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam with a Bachelor of Arts in Law Enforcement and is an active member of the National Youth Engagement Network in Tanzania.
