Youth Livelihoods Alliance (YLA): Creating Economic Opportunities for Young People

In 2013 and 2014, IYF led this alliance in its mission to develop practical and innovative solutions to the global youth unemployment challenge. YLA convened leaders in government, business, and the multilateral donor community to facilitate an exchange on best practices and tested models in workforce development, skills training, self-employment, and corporate social responsibility and sustainability programming. The alliance members pledged three core commitments to youth: promoting the goal to hire young people, developing youth skills, and creating jobs through entrepreneurship. YLA included leaders from the US Department of State, Blackstone, Chevron, Hilton, MasterCard, and Microsoft, and past events include roundtables meetings with key stakeholders
