Where We Work: Palestine

Young people here in Palestine are highly educated but struggle to transition into the workforce.

Through initiatives such as Youth Entrepreneurship Development (YED), we’ve worked to equip young men and women with the technical and life skills to compete for jobs. Knowing that the economy can offer only a limited number of jobs, YED, as its name implies also emphasizes self-employment through small business training. In this initiative alone, we have trained more than 9,000 youth in Palestine with employability and entrepreneurship skills. Another key focus has been capacity building for local partners; here, for example, we’ve trained counselors at career guidance centers in facilitation skills, assessing student needs, and identifying labor market trends.
