In 2008, with support from the World Bank, we joined with the Youth Employment Network, the Arab Urban Development Institute, and the Understanding Children's Work Project to create the Global Partnership for Youth Employment and Employability (GPYE). With a special focus on Africa and the Middle East, GPYE sought to address the youth employment challenge through improved knowledge-sharing, policy dialogue, and local engagement. Using this evidence-based approach, partners launched a range of youth employment programs, research initiatives, and learning events through 2014. IYF served as the secretariat for the partnership, which saw results such as increased commitment to youth employment by municipal governments in the Middle East.
