Youth. Empowerment. Success. (Y.E.S.)

Launched in 2008 with support from the Wm. J. Wrigley Jr. Company Foundation, the Youth. Empowerment. Success. (Y.E.S.) program provides vulnerable youth with access to the education and skills training needed to successfully transition to adulthood. Y.E.S. empowers disadvantaged youth through the development of key life skills (e.g., confidence, effective communication, teamwork), engages them in their communities, and improves their educational prospects. For example, through the program vocational students in Bangalore are learning English, at-risk youth in Moscow are gaining conflict resolution and time management skills, and disadvantaged young people in Barcelona are acquiring computer skills.

  • India: 5,750 youth will receive training in life skills and business English.
  • Philippines: 600 out-of-school youth will benefit from skills training and job placement services
  • Poland: 3,000 disadvantaged youth enrolled in technical and vocational schools will receive life skills training.
  • Russia: 2,200 at-risk youth enrolled in technical secondary schools or living in orphanages or correctional facilities will be equipped with life skills.
  • Spain: 298 youth trainers will be equipped to provide computer literacy training to 1,510 at-risk youth.
