Veli Sundbäck

Veli Sundbäck served as Nokia’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Relations and Responsibility and a member of the Group Executive Board from 1996 through 2008. He joined Nokia after a distinguished diplomatic career spanning over 25 years, holding various ministry positions including Under-Secretary of State for External Economic Relations at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Secretary of State at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He is on the boards of Finnair, a Finnish airline company, and WWF Finland, and Board Chair of Vaaka Partners, a private equity company. He has been decorated with many titles including Commander, 1st Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland, Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland, and Grand Officer of the Order of Infante dom Henrique, Portugal. Mr. Sundbäck has a Licentiate in Law from the University of Helsinki, and is a Senior Lieutenant in the Finnish army.
