Michelle Szechenyi joined IYF in January 2005 and became the Director of Human Resource Development in January 2008 where she is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness and well-being of the organization.  Prior to this, Michelle served as a Program Manager for both the Make a Connection and YouthActionNet® programs in the regions of Africa, Asia/Pacific and North America.   Before coming to IYF, Michelle served as Country Program Officer for Landmine Survivors Network (LSN) where she managed programs in El Salvador, Eritrea, Jordan and Vietnam and provided organizational development support to the overseas offices.  Michelle has spent time working and studying in Lesotho, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.  She holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and has a working knowledge of French.  She resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and two young children.
