Youth In Action: Profiles of Youth Leading Change Around the World, Volume One
By:  Sheila Kinkade
Foreword by Rick Little
Youth Participation

Youth In Action: Profiles of Youth Leading Change Around the World highlights the stories of the first 16 young activists to be awarded grants through YouthActionNet (www.youthactionnet.org), a youth-led website launched by IYF and Nokia in 2001 as part of Nokia’s global Make a Connection program (www.makeaconnection.org).

In this publication you’ll read of a 22-year-old’s efforts in Nepal to reach out to children hospitalized with cancer, of a young Peruvian’s work to teach poor children to read, and a 24-year-old’s initiative in Bosnia-Herzegovina to promote greater understanding of differences. Included are tips for young leaders on how to strengthen their work, plan a project, raise funds, and work with the media.
