The Fundación Restrepo Barco (FRB), founded in 1967, is one of Colombia's leading private grant making and endowed foundations. It is devoted to the educational, technical and cultural development of children and youth and prides itself on contributing to the strengthening of democracy and equal representation in the country.
FRB is a well-recognized institution both nationally and internationally, drawing attention from organizations such as the World Bank, Ford Foundation, Save the Children, UNICEF and the European Union. Corporacion Region para el Desarrollo y la Democracia (CR)
Corporacion Region para el Desarrollo y la Democracia (CR) was founded in 1989 as a non-governmental, non-profit organization by a group of 19 professionals from the human and social sciences. Its mission is to contribute to local and regional development, promote social inclusion, defend democracy, and build a peaceful society.
With an emphasis on education, communication, and research, the Corporación Región works in four program areas: 1) human rights; 2) education and culture; 3) urban and public policies, and 4) institutional development. Corporación Región’s activities target youth, mothers, students and their parents, community and organizational leaders, intellectuals, and public employees.
CR has participated in -- and is currently part of -- an impressive number of networks at the international, national, and local levels. These include the Latin American Social Sciences Council (CLACSO); the NOVIB International Platform; the Antioquia Federation of NGOs; the National Network for Education on Human Rights; the Civil Society Assembly for Peace; the Network on Educational Innovations; and the Support Network for Youth Public Policy.
