Christy Macy joined IYF in 2000 with 30 years of experience in the communications field. She previously served as a White House speechwriter for First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton from 1998 to 1999, accompanying her on numerous international trips and writing on such topics as girl’s and women’s rights, micro-enterprise, education, and international economic development. Christy’s professional experience includes serving as speechwriter for Baltimore Mayor Kurt Schmoke, Assistant Director for Communications at People for the American Way, Assistant to the Hosts of "All Things Considered" at National Public Radio, and Associate at the Center for National Security Studies. As Director of Publications at IYF, she has traveled extensively in Asia, Africa and Latin America to document the lives and aspirations of young people who are benefitting from IYF’s global programs. A published author of numerous articles, books and reports, Christy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from George Washington University.
