Starbucks™ Shared Planet™ Youth Action Grants

Citizenship

A key component of the Starbucks™ Shared Planet™ commitment to communities, the Youth Action Grants program supports young people in creating positive solutions for the needs they see in their communities.

Through the program, young leaders who have completed IYF’s YouthActionNet® program apply annually for grants to support their social change work. A committee comprised of IYF staff and Starbucks partners (employees) select the final grant recipients. The grants, ranging from US$5,000-$10,000, have been used to strengthen the livelihoods of war-affected youth in Liberia, provide micro-credit support to low-income entrepreneurs in Brazil, train youth to mentor children at-risk in India, and more.

  • Approximately 20 youth-led projects annually receive support to strengthen and expand the impact of their social change work. Since 2008, 84 youth-led social innovations in 30 countries have received grants.
