Katherine Carpenter joined IYF in 2008 and serves as the Vice President for Public Sector Business Development.  In her 11 years of experience in business development and project management, Katherine has designed and written successful education, youth employment, health, anti-trafficking, and democracy and governance proposals.  She has won funding from USAID, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of State, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, the World Bank, the Gates Foundation, the Mastercard Foundation, and other donors.  Ms. Carpenter designed and implemented systems that support efficiency and effectiveness in business development activities for Plan International USA and Creative Associates.  As a program manager for World Learning, she oversaw field implementation of a USAID-funded women’s empowerment project in the former Yugoslavia.  Ms. Carpenter has a B.A. in International Affairs and an M.A. in International Development Studies from the George Washington University.  Katherine is conversant in French and has lived in Nepal.
