
Program Coordinator, Build your Business (BYB)
PURPOSE
To provide operational and administrative support to the Microsoft BYB Expansion project
SUMMARY
The International Youth Foundation (IYF), a global nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives and conditions of young people worldwide, is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the expansion of an entrepreneurship curriculum and training program. The ideal candidate will have experience with youth entrepreneurship programs, event planning and general administrative support and work well in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Support the expansion of the Build Your Business (BYB) Program including:
- Assist in Training of Trainer (TOT) workshop planning, including the arrangement of travel and lodging for Country Leads and Regional/Global teams;
- Collect and compile Training of Trainer (TOT) feedback reports;
- Assist in identifying potential firms, consultants, NGOs or universities that could serve as training and support hubs for the BYB curriculum based on IYF standards;
- Prepare Master Trainer contracts, ensuring the timely receipt, approval and processing of proposals, budgets and other relevant materials for contract development, and the approval and processing of disbursements accordingly.
B. Develop and maintain familiarity with all aspects of the BYB Program, including knowledge of donor and IYF procedures and policies and all technical work in-country.
C. Support the BYB Program in drafting program documentation, implementation plans, reports, and concept papers/proposals for partnership efforts as assigned.
D. Support learning, monitoring and evaluation related activities through the development of the Communities of Practice portal content, organizing Virtual TOT and other webinars, and coordinating with field staff and partners on the collection, uploading and management of program data.
E. Provide administrative support for the BYB Program, including coordinating and scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, organizing project documents/files, organizing contacts lists, background research etc.
F. Provide general support to program and perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager, Technology Partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a field relevant to IYF’s mission and programs (Business, Social Science, Economics, International Relations, Adult Education) preferred, plus 3+ years of work experience.
- Work experience in one or more of the following regions -- Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and Middle East strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with programs that support youth entrepreneurship, employment, and/or education/training preferred, in particular, experience with the administration and of online learning portals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic desirable.
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS), Adobe Flash, social media and/or other web-based technologies desirable.
- Ability to identify and establish priorities, work independently, and exercise sound judgment related to providing support and assistance.
- Ability to identify problems in a timely manner, make recommendations toward solving problems, and work well in group problem solving situations.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team, as well as an ability to carry out tasks independently. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required. Thorough knowledge and experience in building office systems, filing systems, and general office procedures preferred.
- Possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills which must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with a broad array of cultures and languages
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
