Helio Mattar

Mr. Mattar is the President of the Akatu Institute for Conscious Consumption in São Paulo. He has held senior positions in all three sectors of society. In government, he served as Vice Minister for National Production in the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. In business, he was Vice President of planning for the food conglomerate CICA and its parent holding company the Bonfiglioli Group, and later served as President of GE Appliances in Brazil. Mr. Mattar founded several NGOs, including the Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility and the Akatu Institute. He was also a board member of the Brazilian Association for the Development of Leaders and the Abrinq Foundation. Mr. Mattar earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
