Increasing Role of Youth is Focus of Financial Times Report

We are pleased to announce the publication of a four-page supplement in the January 25th  edition of the Financial Times that focuses on young people’s increasingly effective efforts to address urgent local and global challenges.  “While non-governmental organizations, companies and governments all play a vital role in improving the health, education and employment prospects of the younger members of society,” writes Sarah Murray, contributing writer for the Financial Times, in the lead article, “there is an increasing recognition of the power of young people themselves to make a contribution.”

Highlights of the “Investing in Young People” report include a commentary by Queen Rania of Jordan challenging the private sector to lend greater support to youth programs; profiles of YouthActionNet®  fellows around the world; and an article on the impact of the Internet and mobile technology as tools to impact social change.

The supplement, timed to coincide with the meeting of global leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, spotlights as well examples of innovative partnerships among government, businesses, and NGOs to better address young people’s needs.

The youth supplement is produced bi-annually through a collaboration between the Financial Times and the International Youth Foundation.
