Job Purpose
To work with local NGO partners, both at the headquarters and field levels, to support, mentor and develop their capacity to manage, implement and report on HIV/AIDS prevention and peer education activities as IYF sub-grantees.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to NGO partners to assess project implementation and monitor results.
- Design and facilitate training sessions that support quality programs.
- Provide technical assistance as needed to ensure the successful implementation of project activities.
- Assist partners with the development of annual work plans and budgets.
- Work with partners to develop and implement systems of accurate data collection.
- Ensure that partners are familiar with IYF and USAID reporting requirements and submit timely monthly and quarterly reports.
- Interpret and translate project documents as needed
- Contribute to the development of internal and external materials and publications
- Liaise between HQ and grantees on marking & branding issues
- Other programmatic duties as may be assigned by the Project Director or IYF
Reporting and key relationships
- Supervised by the Tanzania Project Director/Empowering Africa’s Young People’s Initiative
Qualification Requirements:
- University Degree in health or social sciences related field
- Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- 2-3 years experience working with a local or international NGO, ideally in a youth peer education, HIV, reproductive health program, or OVC program
- Experience designing and conducting participatory training workshops
- M&E knowledge and experience
- Must be a self starter who takes initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time within Tanzania.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A strong working knowledge of English and Swahili is essential.
